As we approach the holiday season, we would like to take a moment to send our warmest Christmas wishes to everyone in the Australian banana industry.

This time of year is a perfect reminder of the strength and resilience that defines our community and we are truly grateful for the hard work and dedication that each of you brings to the table.

Looking ahead to 2025, the Australian Banana Growers Council (ABGC) remains committed to supporting all growers as we continue to navigate the challenges of protecting our industry from Panama TR4.

With your partnership, the recommencement of surveillance efforts will be a key step in strengthening our collective efforts to contain the spread and impact of TR4. Early detection and treatment of TR4 positive plants is key to the ongoing sustainability of your farm. This is why it’s so important to be actively checking for the disease while taking proactive steps to keep it at bay.

As we move into the new year, let’s all take responsibility together, knowing that every action we take will contribute to the future of the industry we love and there are ample resources to help you do that.

We are excited about the continued progress and confident that, as a united community, we will continue to thrive.
